It’s NEVER too late!
Nothing inspires me more than women changing the end of their story!
This week I was interviewed for the “Bigger Than The Hustle” podcast and was asked what inspired me the most. My answer was women who go through difficulties in life but are determined to rise and change the end of their story. Women who come through big struggles and come out the other side still smiling. And women who have the courage to make the rest of their life the best of their life, believing that it’s never too late to become what you might have been.
Do you know on my 2021 BEST:Business group there are now six women who’ve set up new businesses in their fifties & sixties, after getting divorced?
Determined to be financially independent and do something that gives them a sense of pride, passion and purpose. It’s been amazing to see them channel their energy into something positive.
Sherly Sandberg said “When option A isn’t available anymore, kick the hell out of option B!”
Many women who go through a divorce feel lonely and overwhelmed. But of course running a business can also be lonely and overwhelming too! Especially when you’re by yourself (no matter what your age!). Which is why these women are loving being on my BEST:Business program, with me supporting them until the end of the year.
Many of them want to create a lifestyle business too – a business on their terms. So they have balance and make sure that their business and life is enjoyable. Stress is bad enough at any time in life, but over 50 – NO WAY!
“Age is no barrier. It’s a limitation you put on your mind.” ~ Jackie Joyner-Kersee
Just because a woman is over 50, does not mean she no longer has anything to offer. In fact, it’s the complete opposite. These women have lived life, they have experience, they have made mistakes, they have lived through tough times and they are wiser as a result.
Running their own business gives them the chance to be the boss. And it’s a great time in life to reconnect with things they love, think of new ideas and options. And get really excited about the future!
A business gives them the opportunity to enjoy meeting new people through online networking and social media, learning new skills and inspiring others. Making a difference.
The amazing business women below are no exception. They are living proof that they are very much in the prime of life when it comes to creating a successful and enjoyable business. They have SO much to offer to the world and I’ve loved seeing them and their businesses flourish.
What is most incredible about these women is that they have all been through divorce, all dealt with the insecurities and lack of self-confidence that divorce can bring. But yet built themselves back up, stronger. To use their life experience and passions to help others. Proving that it really is NEVER too late to follow your dreams.

Honor Marks not only runs a gite business called Maison de la Roche in the South of France but has evolved during Covid times into a successful Instagram coach, running regular 3 week courses. Over the years Honor has been struggling with a messy divorce and bringing up her young daughter as a single parent. These days she can be seen shining bright and confident as the Instagram Queen, having fun in her fifties, and sharing her tips with other women.
“Janey has helped me with various things in my life for 18 years, be it food management, fitness or my mindset. So when I attended a BEST:Business Mindset challenge and Janey told me that I’d be good at Coaching on Instagram, I trusted her and believed that I could do it. She was right…I can! l may be mid 50s but Janey inspired me to know that I already had the skills, I could be successful and help other women to find their confidence to do the same. I can’t wait to explore more things I can do in my new business. I’m really excited about unraveling my potential and creating a wonderful future.” ~ Honor
Janet Henson is the woman you need to know if you’re going through a divorce, are in a controlling relationship or recovering from one. She’s a globally sought-after Divorce Coach at JH Divorce Coaching, whose quest is to banish the stigma that still surrounds divorce and prove that the end of a marriage can be the most empowering, and life-affirming event. Janet herself went through divorce later in life, having dealt with years of Narcissistic abuse.
“After my divorce I decided to take a different career direction and set up my own business as a divorce and narcissist recovery coach. After retraining I knew I needed help to build my business. I liken it to a lasagne, a perfect analogy to assist me in developing my business. I had the first layer but needed help to assemble the other layers. The layers I needed being the optimum content, context, and message that my business required. Just like a chef’s wish to develop the best ever tasting lasagne, my wish was to develop a truly successful business. I wanted to be sure just like a lasagne I made an amazing one! Stronger, and with the right accompaniments. This is where Janey Holliday came in. Joining her BEST:Business Program was the catalyst to making sure all my ‘ingredients’ for my business were in place and she gave me the expertise to finish all my lasagne layers.” ~ Janet
Mitty Leach is about to launch her exciting new business. I can’t tell you any more about that right now, but I have had a sneak preview and this is definitely one to watch in 2021! Mitty openly admits she would never have thought of signing up to a small business mindset program and although she has run businesses in the past, BEST: Business has given her the confidence to follow her dreams and ENJOY her business journey. Watch this space @madmothermitty!
“I bitterly regretted selling my business back in 2009 and now, more than ten years later I’m looking forward to launching a new brand. My children have grown up and sadly I am divorced but I have more time now than ever before and am throwing myself into this new venture. At 57, my energy and enthusiasm levels have never been higher! I was expecting to do this completely alone but by chance I watched a LIVE with Honor Marks and Janey, and the next day I signed up! What a great decision. Janey’s level of support is above and beyond all expectations and the sense of camaraderie within the group is exceptional. Janey’s advice, her ideas and her energy are inspiring and so incredibly motivating. Suddenly I have work colleagues and I’m no longer in this alone. Thank you Janey!” ~Mitty
