OVERview & BOOKING DETAILS
The cost of the retreat is £275. Or you can spread the payment over 6 months (6 payments of £50 per month). The first payment will be taken immediately, followed by 5 x subsequent monthly payments.
(Please note bookings on this retreat are non-refundable and once your direct debit is set up, you agree to pay all 6 direct debits)
This covers Janey and Gill’s time all weekend and room hire with tea, coffee, water and snacks at the venue where our sessions will be hosted.
Our sessions are taking place at the beautiful, historical Kennaway House which is in the centre of Sidmouth, 1 minute from the shops, cafes and restaurants and 2 minutes walk to the beach 🙂
You will need to arrange your own travel and accommodation (see list opposite) and pay for your lunches and dinners throughout the weekend. We have chosen social venues where there are price options and flexibility for all budgets and accommodation the same too.
We have not designed the sessions specifically yet, because we will tailor make this weekend completely to those who are coming. We will send surveys out to those booked on and then email out a specific plan nearer the time 🙂
If the weather is nice we plan to break out and use the lawns in Kennaway grounds and may run some of our afternoon sessions out on the beach too.

ACCOMMODATION
You can search via bookings.com and usually book a room in advance that comes with no payment until you arrive and often with a 48 hr no fee cancellation policy.
Harbour Hotel and Spa
Great views of Sidmouth, very luxurious hotel, small pool and spa, breakfast overlooking Sidmouth is amazing and the rooms are lovely (even the ones without a sea view). The hotel is opposite the wonderful Connaught Gardens and down the steps to Jacob’s ladder beach.
Book via the Harbour Hotel directly if not on bookings.com.
Dukes
This is small hotel above Dukes restaurant and terrace, right on the seafront. Book via Dukes website
Bedford Hotel
Right on the seafront, lovely balconies and nice bar with side terrace. Book via Booking.com or via the Bedford Hotel directly
Air BnB / Cottages
There are some great one and two bedroom apartments available in Sidmouth, some overlooking the sea – it’s worth looking on Air BnB or just googling!
I can personally recommend Golden Cottage where 3-4 people could stay. It’s a couple of minutes walk from the seafront and has a big kitchen and patio area, one big double room, one twin room and one very small room with a single bed. There is a big bathroom upstairs with bath and shower and a toilet downstairs. Rates showing at £161 per night over the weekend
B&B
Lynstead House is a good option – right by the Byes, although a good 10 minutes from the seafront. From £85 per night for a double room and breakfast
Cheriton Guest House is another good one, a few doors down from Lynstead House. Single rooms cost £53 per night or, double/twin/kingsize rooms cost £85 per night
There are also a variety of B&Bs and other hotels in Sidmouth, but the ones mentioned here are ones I can personally recommend! Booking.com is a good place to look.
TRAVEL
Train
You can get direct trains from Waterloo and Clapham Junction into Honition, which is 20 minutes by direct bus into Sidmouth or approx. £30 in a taxi. Trains booked in advance can be as little as £29 return. You can get a train into Exeter from Paddington but you would need to get a bus from there which is about 45 minutes or taxi about 35 minutes.
Plane
There is a direct flight from City Airport in London to Exeter Airport, which is a 15 to 20 minute taxi ride from Sidmouth.
Car
If coming from London, Sidmouth can be reached by going down the M3, then the A303, then the A30 and into Sidmouth on the A375. On a good run down you can get from London in 3-3.5 hours. Please note going past Stone Henge can make this journey longer in peak times. You can alternatively go via the M5 into Exeter and then along to Sidmouth on the A3502
