Switch frequency

One of the things I’m realising through my recent coaching work is that more and more people are feeling worse and worse about their lives. They are less fulfilled with life than ever before and unhappy with themselves, their finances, their circumstances and just in general day to day living. But I’m on a mission to change that!

I’m a very positive person by nature, but don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those people that feels amazing 100% of the time . I’m human and sometimes I suffer from negativity, self criticism and feeling a bit fed up, but one thing I know is that it’s your mind and ONLY your mind that can change the way you feel. Let me explain…

Before Christmas, I went through a bit of a funny phase where I wasn’t feeling as good as I usually do and that was strange for me because I love Christmas and that time of year and I normally have a really good mindset. As I didn’t feel great, this manifested itself in all areas of my life – my energy was low, my mood was affected and I actually found myself focusing on the things I didn’t have, the things that were stressing me out, feeling like I was facing an uphill struggle, all that rubbish negative stuff that makes you feel, well , rubbish!

What happened as a result? More negative thoughts, that created more negative feelings, my stress levels went up and my feel good factor was up and gone. In a nutshell, I’d lost my mojo!

It’s a month later and I’m in a totally different place mentally. I’ve got great energy and vitality, I’m really grateful for everything I have and everything I’m working towards, I have peace of mind, I feel content and in control, and I’m in one of the best places I’ve been in for a very long time.
So what has changed? Absolutely nothing, APART FROM what’s in my mind. And all I had to do to create that change was, what I call, ‘switching the frequency’.

Thoughts become things, thoughts create action or inaction and thoughts are the things that can make or break us. I realized that my thoughts were not great and I knew the only person that could override them was me.

What frequency are you on right now?

One of the best ways to switch frequency is to create a vision board that you can focus on to remind yourself of what you have, where you can go, how to approach life and so on. Here is a little sneak peek of one I’m putting together at the moment…

janey holliday mood board prepartionEven just cutting out the words and images took me to a better place, I really do recommend it. Things I found that stood out for me were:

* I know my life is privileged *
* Confident and in control *
* The best things in my life *
* Restore, revive, relax *
* I’m grabbing every opportunity *
* Simple solutions *

I started getting really involved with the process and decided to create a gratitude board, a wish list board and a mindset board, and soon I’m going to be doing an online Vision Board workshop so you can see how powerful this creative process can be.

For now start cutting out images, pictures, words and sayings and put them on a board or in a safe place. Focus on them and see how easy it is to flip frequency and feel great as a result. Feeling good comes from within. What could you focus on today that makes you have nicer thoughts? What could you be more grateful for? Go forth and feel good!

    Dear Janey, I know exactly where you were ’cause I went there myself this past christmas! It happens so fast! I too used the vision board technique to bring myself back up from the swirling vortex of negativity. Once I got started, one board was not enough so I created a vision book out of a large 3 ring binder and sheet protectors. I attach what I cut out to printer paper, a glue stick works great for this, and put it in the sheet protector. Then I made categories for different areas of my life like: Health, Career, relationships, Home, Etc. I love your idea for a gratitude board and will be adding a gratitude section to my book as well. Remember “Where your attention goes, energy flows.”
